I wish I could keep this short and simple but I am afraid it wouldn’t serve the guys behind article.guide enough justice. First off, let me just say, the HEAVENS sent them to me.
Literally. I did not seek them. I did not even know that a website was in my plans.
He watched the online following I created from a distance and reached out to me, giving free business advice. He told me that tumblr (which was the only platform I was using before) is getting revenue for the traffic I am bringing to my page and it would make more sense for ME to get paid on my OWN platform.
While this sounding like a great idea, I still couldn’t afford to make this happen at the time. I declined his offer. This is when their big heart and great business mind first revealed itself. He offered to start on my website, as long as I agreed to an invoice being sent, and he allowed me time to be able to pay. He also allowed me to pay in increments so I did not have to stress about it.
He said he saw potential in my brand and wanted to help it grow. Well, months later, and that is EXACTLY what he did. So, let me first acknowledge that this is a man of his word!
Throughout this process, I assumed that he was going to half-ass the work since I technically did not pay him yet and I also expected him to message me every single week about payment, how most people would do. They did not do either. Although, he did message me constantly about the updates he had made on my new website.
He literally finished in about one week, well before the agreement of my first payment to him. This is when I first realized the intense amount of INTEGRITY he has. Not only for his own brand, but he made me feel like he cared about mine, too.
And, THAT! That was my FAVORITE part of not only working with him but us crossing paths at all.I have had my brand for three years and not ONCE have I met ANYONE that even comes close to the amount of integrity he has shown.
He cared so much about the quality of my work, you would have thought that his own name would be on the website. He was very knowledgeable about things I could have never known myself like my website potentially crashing if too many people came on at once and he made adjustments to avoid that, without my request or extra payment.
He could have charged me for every single thing he did for my website but there was SO MUCH HE DID without ever mentioning that I technically owe him more. He made me feel OBLIGATED to pay him even more than I could, sometimes. It wasn’t because he asked…no, he never once asked for more than we originally agreed to. But, because his work ethic was so good my OWN HEART would tell me that, this man deserves more!
And to make it even more surprising…I live in the United States and he lives in the Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I don’t even see how this business relationship is not only possible but worked so successfully. I no longer want this to be a one-time transaction, which is how I work with most people. I consider Article.Guide to be on my team and as long as he is willing to continue to work with me, I would never even consider anyone else.
